Could not load file or assembly 'RSSharePointSoapProxy

                       

Initially, when I start the Central administration page, I welcomed with the error” the page can’t found”. After I enabled the Call stack and custom errors mode to see the Exact error. The error should be below.

Issue: Could not load file or assembly 'RSSharePointSoapProxy, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'RSSharePointSoapProxy, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Source Error:
An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Cause: The issue happens because of missing or corrupted RSSharePointSoapProxy dll due to un-installation of Reporting Services Add-In.

Solution: To get resolve the issue, we need to re-install the missing RSS files. 

Download the Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in and install in the server.

Note:No need to reboot server or Restart of any service after installation of RSS Add on.

    I do have SQL 2008 R2 and recently installed SQL 2012 in my machine. After this when i am opening SharePoint 2010 site, I got the RSSharePointSoapProxy error. When i tried to install the above fix, I am getting error - " Installation of Microsoft SQl server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint 2010 Products failed because a higher version already exists on the machine. To proceed, uninstall the higher version and then run Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint 2010 Products Setup again."

  3. HI Boy,Its because you have already SQL 2012 installed on your machine and your trying to update the 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in which is lower version than you have.please try installing the (http://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/download/details.aspx?id=29068) and let me know the result.

  4. Thanks for the reply Anil. But the resource has been removed from the above link. I would like to - Uninstall SQL 2012 Reporting Service Add-in, check whether the fix (rsSharePoint.msi) will work or not. Update you once i am done with it.

    Steps that i followed:


    1. Uninstall SQL 2012 RS Add-in
    2. Restart the machine
    3. Apply the Fix
