size of Picture in SharePoint 2013 profile page

size of Picture in  SharePoint 2013 profile page

This is a query generally most of the SharePoint administrators get. In this article I am providing the details for this.

Explanation: Microsoft has changed the default thumbnail sizes for User Profile photos in SharePoint 2013. Here’s a comparison of the maximum dimensions (pixels).

Max pixels
Thumbnail
SP2010
SP2013
Large
144
300
Medium
96
72
Small
32
48

The original image does not get stored when you upload a profile picture.  Instead, 3 thumbnails are generated (144x72, 96x48 & 32x16) and are stored in folder called "Profile Pictures" in a picture library called "User Photos" under the MySite parent site collection.
it is not possible to change the size of these of the files that get generated and you won't be able to get the original picture from SharePoint.  The largest picture available is going to be the 144x72 that gets generated for the profile page

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

An exception occurred while getting local certificate by friendly name

An exception occurred while getting local certificate by friendly name

Issue: An exception occurred while getting local certificate by friendly name

Cause: This issue occurs because IIS Manager performs a lookup operation to look for a friendly name of the certificate during the installation. However, the code that performs this lookup operation misses this specific case, and it does not know how to retrieve the friendly name of a certificate in a PKCS#7 file. Therefore, the lookup operation fails, and you receive the error message

Solution: To resolve this problem, add a friendly name to the certificate. To do this, follow these steps:

1.   Click Start, click Run, type certmgr.mmc, and then click OK.
2.   Click File, click Add/Remove Span-ins.
3.   Select Certificates, and click Add, and then click OK.
4.   Select Computer account, and click Next, and then click Finish.
5.   Click OK.
6.   Expand Certificates (Local Computer), and Personal, and then Certificates.
7.   Right-click the certificate, and then click Properties.
8.   Edit the Friendly name field and put as required.

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

September 2014 CU for SharePoint 2013 has been released

The Full Server Packages for September 2014 CU are available through the following links:

Note:
1.    Be aware that all Update for SharePoint 2013 require SharePoint Server 2013 SP1 OR March 2013 PU for SharePoint 2013 to be installed first.

2.    Previous releases of the SharePoint Server 2013 cumulative update included both the executable and the .CAB file in the same self-extracting executable download.
