A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections

Issue: The web application can’t find while we open the CA. In the ULS logs and Event viewer sees the error” A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections”

Solution: Ensure to check the below settings to get rid of the error.

·        Ensure SQL database and services are running.
·        Ensure to reboot  the DB server after applied a Hot fix or Service Pack.
·        Ensure the Firewall is not blocking the communication
·        Ensure The SharePoint Installation Account does have the required permissions to the SQL Server database.
·        Ensure Network connectivity is OK between the SharePoint Server and SQL Server

If issue Still persists, Restart the SQL services and restart the DB server If necessary.

The webpage cannot be found message when you click on About Me on your SharePoint 2013 site or How to create the My Site in SharePoint 2013

Issue: "The webpage cannot be found" message when we click on About Me on  SharePoint 2013 site.  

                                             

                                      

Cause: It’s because of, That  you haven't yet configured your site for My Sites.  In this article, I walk you through the steps you need to configure My Sites in SharePoint 2013

Resolution: Please follow the below steps to create the My Sites in SharePoint 2013 and get rid of error message.
1.   Go to Central Administration >Application Management-> site collections-> Create site collections

                        

           

2.   Create a sub-site with the My Host Site template from the Enterprise tab as pictured below

                                 

3.   Go to Central Administration > Manage service applications > Manage Profile Service > User Profile Service Application and select Setup My Sites:
              


          

4.   In My Site Host location, type the URL address which was created in Step1:
                   http://serversite:80/sites/mysite
                           

5.   In Location, enter the following text: sites/mysite/Personal



6.   Go to Web Applications Management and select the Web application to configure My Site > Add Managed Paths:

 
7.   In Path, type the text we entered including personal sites/mysite/Personal



8.   Click Add Path:
9.   Next, click Self-Service Site Creation on the Ribbon, and under "Allow users to create site collections in defined URL namespaces," select On.

                    

10.         After you have completed the steps above, test to see that configuration was properly completed by returning to the home page and clicking on About Me in the header:
 
11.             This will successfully redirect to your My Site:
